Responsible gambling

Tower Rush is designed to be exciting, and it is. It is also a gambling game with a house edge: over time, players lose more than they win. This page is for the moment when that stops being an abstract sentence.

Why crash games carry extra risk

  • Speed. A Tower Rush round lasts seconds. A hundred rounds an hour is normal, and losses add up without feeling like it.
  • Near misses. A tower that collapses one floor after you considered cashing out feels like bad luck rather than the expected result, and pushes you to try again.
  • Control that is not control. Choosing when to press Cashout feels like skill. The odds and collapses are still decided by chance.
  • Phones. The game is always in your pocket, including at 2 a.m.
  • Mobile wallets. Topping up with JazzCash or Easypaisa takes seconds, which removes the pause that might have stopped you.

Warning signs

Be honest with yourself if several of these are true:

  • you play longer or with more money than you planned;
  • you deposit again to win back what you lost;
  • you hide your playing or its cost from family;
  • you borrow money, use money meant for bills, or sell things to keep playing;
  • you feel restless or irritable when you are not playing;
  • you have tried to stop and could not.

Tools that actually help

  • Deposit limits in your casino account, set before you play, not during a losing session.
  • Session reminders and time limits, where the casino offers them, or a simple phone timer.
  • Self-exclusion in the casino account, for weeks, months or permanently. Close every account, not just one.
  • Remove saved payment details and uninstall casino apps.
  • Tell someone you trust. Gambling problems grow in secret.
  • Block gambling apps and sites with your phone's content restrictions or a blocking app.

Where to get help

Pakistan does not have a dedicated national gambling helpline. These services are free, confidential and reachable online:

  • Gambling Therapy — gamblingtherapy.org: free online support, live chat and forums, in several languages.
  • Gamblers Anonymous — gamblersanonymous.org: self-help meetings, including online meetings.
  • GamCare — gamcare.org.uk: live chat and information.
  • BeGambleAware — begambleaware.org: self-assessment tools and advice.

If gambling is linked to feelings of hopelessness or thoughts of harming yourself, please contact a doctor or a mental health professional in your city today.

For family members

If someone close to you is struggling with gambling:

  • talk about it calmly, at a moment when they are not playing;
  • avoid paying off their debts without a plan, which can remove the pressure to change;
  • protect shared money and mobile wallet access;
  • look after yourself too: family members can use the same support services listed above.
